MORE INFORMATION

The purpose of the General tab in Microsoft Windows 95 is to provide a location from which you can upgrade the mouse driver. However, the General tab can accommodate only one mouse. With the addition of Universal Serial Bus (USB) support in Windows 98, more than one pointing device may be installed on the computer. To upgrade the mouse driver in Windows 98, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click System, click the Device Manager tab, and then double- click the Mouse branch to expand it.
  3. Click the appropriate mouse, and then click Properties.
  4. Click the Driver Tab, and then click Update Driver.
  5. Follow the instructions on the screen.
