This article was previously published under Q186903 SYMPTOMS
After you install Windows 98 using an Msbatch.inf file that was created
with the Microsoft Batch 98 tool, virtual private network (VPN) may
not be installed even though it was selected for installation.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if the NDISWAN network protocol is not installed
during the batch installation.
RESOLUTION
To prevent this problem from occurring, either create a new Microsoft
Batch 98 information (Msbatch.inf) file, or modify your existing
information file with the Microsoft Batch 98 tool. Follow these steps
in Microsoft Batch 98 to add the NDISWAN protocol:
- Click Network Options, and then click Additional Clients.
- In the Protocols box, type NDISWAN.
- Click OK.
- Save the Msbatch.inf file and then quit Microsoft Batch 98.
