When you redefine heading styles Heading 2, Heading 3, and greater to
include an indentation and then apply heading numbering to the document,
Microsoft Word resets the user-defined heading styles to their original
indentation.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, redefine the heading styles after applying
heading numbering.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products
listed at the beginning of this article.
