Cannot Run CD Player from Start Menu if Deluxe CD Player Removed (186784)

SYMPTOMS

If you remove the Deluxe CD Player program included in Plus! 98, you are unable to run the CD Player program included in Microsoft Windows 98 from the Start menu. Although the CD Player program remains installed on your computer, the CD Player shortcut does not appear on the Start menu.

RESOLUTION

To place the CD Player shortcut on the Start menu, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs, and then click the Windows Setup tab.
  3. In the Components box, click Multimedia, and then click Details.
  4. Click the CD Player check box to clear it.
  5. Click OK, and then click Apply.
  6. In the Components box, click Multimedia, and then click Details.
  7. Click the CD Player check box to select it, and then click OK.
  8. Click OK, and then close Control Panel.
