SYMPTOMS

When you drag a window to a new location on the desktop, the desktop may be redrawn slowly.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you use an active desktop theme that requires a large amount of system resources.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Display.
  3. On the Effects tab, click the Show Window Contents While Dragging check box to clear it, and then click OK.
  4. Close Control Panel.
