SYMPTOMS

When you try to run the Disk Defragmenter tool on a compressed drive, your computer may stop responding (hang).

CAUSE

This issue can occur if you are running the PC-Cillin 95 version 3.x Monitor.exe program.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, disable PC-Cillin 95 version 3.x before you start Disk Defragmenter. For information about how to disable Monitor.exe, consult the documentation included with PC-Cillin 95 version 3.x.

PC-Cillin 95's Monitor.exe program is an anti-virus program that loads when you start your computer.

NOTE: You can use your computer while Disk Defragmenter is running, however, Disk Defragmenter restarts if the contents of the drive you are defragmenting change.
