OL98: Additional +1 Added to Phone Number of Contact (186576)

When you enter a telephone number in a phone number field of a Contact
in Microsoft Outlook 98, you may see "+1" (without the quotation marks)
automatically added before the area code of the phone number.
CAUSE
The +1 is the country code for the United States.
