Microsoft scanned this file for viruses. Microsoft used the most current virus-detection software that was available on the date that the file was posted. The file is stored on security-enhanced servers that help to prevent any unauthorized changes to the file.
The files in the MSL are compressed, self-extracting executables. After you download the file you need, simply run it to extract the files it contains. Note that the expanded file for each of the platforms contains both the Readme.txt file for installation instructions of the service pack, and the Fixlist.txt file which describes all bugs that are corrected with this patch.
