OFF98: Disk Space Incorrectly Reported for Large Volumes (186250)

When you view the Disk Storage information in the System Info dialog box,
the following items may incorrectly report their values:
CAUSE
In the System Info dialog box, the Volume Size may be incorrectly reported
if the size of your drive is greater than 2 gigabytes (GB), and the Free
Space may be incorrectly reported if the total amount of free space on your
drive is greater than 4 GB.
WORKAROUND
To accurately view the information of your hard drives, use the Apple
System Profiler. To do this, follow these steps:
- In the Finder, click Apple System Profiler on the Apple menu.
- On the Select menu, click Volume Information.
The Volume Information dialog box will display the correct information for
all of your hard drives.
NOTE: The Apple System Profiler is not available in all versions of the
Apple Macintosh System Software.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products
listed at the beginning of this article.
