XL97: Pointer Not Changed to Format Painter Pointer (186208)

When you click Format Painter on the Standard toolbar, your Microsoft Excel
pointer changes to the default Windows arrow pointer rather than to the
Format Painter pointer.
CAUSE
You do not have the "Provide Feedback with Animation" option selected.
WORKAROUND
To change the appearance of the Format Painter pointer, follow these steps:
- On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Edit tab.
- Select the "Provide feedback with Animation" check box. Click OK.
- On the File menu, click Exit to close Microsoft Excel.
- Restart Microsoft Excel.
NOTE: The exact appearance of pointer will depend upon whether you have
installed Animated Cursors from the Microsoft Office 97 ValuPack. For

STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Excel 97 for
Windows.
This problem no longer occurs in Microsoft Excel 2000.
