Fatal Exception Error Message with Comspeed Version 2.14 (186203)

SYMPTOMS
When you upgrade to Windows 98, or after you install Cordes Comspeed
version 2.14, you may receive a fatal exception error message on a blue
screen. This behavior may be repeated when you restart your computer.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if you are running Cordes Comspeed version 2.14.
Windows 98 is not compatible with the type of .vxd file used by this
program.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, upgrade to Cordes Comspeed version 2.15 or later.
To work around this issue, use the following steps:
- Restart your computer, press and hold down the CTRL key until you see
the Windows 98 Startup menu, and then choose Safe Mode Command Prompt Only.
- Type the following lines, pressing ENTER after each line:
cd windows\system\iosubsys
ren comspeed.vxd comspeed.old
- Restart your computer.
- Click Start, point to Programs, point to Startup, right-click Comspeed,
and then click Delete.
