Network Adapter Appears in Network Properties When Disabled (186052)

After you create a Hardware Profile with your network adapter or dial-up
adapter disabled, the adapter may still appear on the Configuration tab in
Network Properties. The adapter may still be visible even after you
restart your computer.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur because the adapter is not removed unless you
uninstall it. While it is disabled, the adapter is still visible.
STATUS
This is by design.
