XL98: Error Messages Closing WK4 File (185585)

In Microsoft Excel 98, when you open and then close a workbook that was
saved in WK4 (1-2-3) format, you may receive the following error message:
The application "Microsoft Excel" has unexpectedly quit, because an
error of type 10 occurred.
You should save your work in other open applications and restart the
computer.
-or-
Microsoft Excel just quits.
CAUSE
This problem occurs only when you perform the following steps:
- You group two OLE objects together on a worksheet.
- You then save the workbook in WK4 (1-2-3) file format.
- You then close the workbook.
- You then reopen and then close the workbook.
WORKAROUND
To prevent this issue from occurring, do not group OLE objects if you are
going to save in WK4 (1-2-3) format.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Excel 98.
