PRJ98: Resources Not Removed When You Stop Resource Sharing (185297)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Project 98 for Windows
This article was previously published under Q185297 SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft Project 98, when you stop sharing resources from a resource
pool, resources that are not assigned in the active project remain in the
list of resources for the active project.
WORKAROUND
To work around this behavior, use either of the following methods.
Method 1: Delete the Resources Manually- On the View menu, click Resource Sheet.
- On the Window menu, click Split.
- Click the first resource and look in the bottom pane to see if any
tasks are assigned. If there are no tasks assigned, press
DELETE to delete the resource.
Method 2: Run a Macro to Remove Resources with No Tasks AssignedMicrosoft provides programming examples for illustration only, without warranty either expressed or implied. Use the following macro to delete any resource that is not assigned to a
task:
Sub NoAssignments()
Dim R As Object
For Each R In ActiveProject.Resources
If Not R Is Nothing Then
If R.Assignments.Count = 0 Then
R.Delete
End If
End If
Next R
End Sub
