SYMPTOMS

When you try to print a document that contains Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) to a Hewlett-Packard printer, the page may not print correctly. Also, the printer may not respond, eject a blank page, be very slow, or print a partial image or one that does not match the contents of your screen.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, use the appropriate method:

Hewlett-Packard LaserJet 4 or LaserJet 5 Series

If you are using a Hewlett-Packard LaserJet 4 or LaserJet 5 series printer, change to the Hewlett-Packard LaserJet 4 or 4M printer driver that is included with Windows 3.x. To do so, use the following steps:
  1. In Program manager, double-click Main, and then double-click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Printers, and then double-click Add Printer.
  3. Follow the instructions on the screen to finish installing the Hewlett-Packard LaserJet 4 or 4M printer driver

Hewlett-Packard LaserJet Series Printers Before LaserJet 4

If you are using a Hewlett-Packard LaserJet series printer before the LaserJet 4, copy the information on the screen, paste it into another program such as Microsoft Word, and then print the information from that program. For information about how to print the contents of the screen, click Start, click Help, click the Index tab, type print screen, click Display, and then double-click the "To copy the window or screen contents" topic.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 and 4.01 for Windows 3.1.
