The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Excel 98 Macintosh Edition
- Microsoft Word 98 Macintosh Edition
- Microsoft PowerPoint 98 Macintosh Edition
This article was previously published under Q185226 SYMPTOMS
If you drag a toolbar in any of the Microsoft Office 98 Macintosh Edition
programs to the bottom of the screen, the toolbar may be difficult to
reposition or may completely disappear. Also, you may not be able to see
the status bar at the bottom of the screen.
CAUSE
This problem may occur if the GoMac control panel is installed on your
computer. Note that the status bar is not visible only if the GoMac program
bar is set to "Auto hide."
WORKAROUND
If you drag a toolbar to the bottom of the screen and it disappears or you
cannot drag the toolbar back to a floating position, follow these steps:
- On the Application menu, click Finder.
- On the Application menu click Microsoft <Office program name>.
The toolbar then floats near the bottom of the screen.
If you cannot see the status bar every time the GoMac program bar unhides
itself, follow these steps:
- On the Apple menu, point to Control Panels, and then click GoMac.
- In the GoMac dialog box, clear the Auto Hide check box.
- Close the GoMac dialog box.
The status bar is displayed above the stationary GoMac program bar.
STATUS
This problem occurs when you use Microsoft Office 98 Macintosh Edition and
GoMac version 1.5v1 or earlier.
