SYMPTOMS

The LPKTOOL distributed with the Internet Client SDK does not display all licensed controls registered on the system.

CAUSE

LPKTool displays only controls that have the CONTROL sub-key in the registry under the ClassID of the control in HKCR\CLSID. This subkey is used to mark controls as suitable for generic containers (that is, Visual Basic, Internet Explorer, and so forth). Controls that do not have this sub- key are not be displayed as it is assumed that they are not suitable for use in Internet Explorer/Visual Basic.

STATUS
