XL98: Details Not Displayed in New Dialog Box (185117)

SYMPTOMS

When you click By Details in the View dropdown in the New dialog box, the Size, Kind, and Last Modified columns are blank.

CAUSE

This problem will occur if the following conditions are true:
  • You click By Details in the View dropdown in the New dialog box. -and-

  • You have not activated a tab in the New dialog box other than the General tab in this session of Microsoft Excel.

WORKAROUND

If more than one tab is displayed in the New dialog box, you can follow these steps to work around the problem:
  1. Activate a different tab in the New dialog box.
  2. Activate the General tab in the New dialog box.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Excel 98 Macintosh Edition.
