XL98: Error Exporting Charts with Internet Assistant Wizard (185115)

SYMPTOMS

When you click Finish in the "Internet Assistant Wizard - Step 4 of 4" dialog box, you may receive the following error:
The wizard could not export the chart. The GIF Import and Export graphic filter may not be installed correctly.
The HyperText Markup Language (HTML) file is created, but one or more of the charts that you wanted to export as GIF files are not exported.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if Microsoft Excel 98 Macintosh Edition is out of memory. This error message is likely to occur if you are using the default memory settings for Excel 98.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, increase the preferred memory size by 2,000 kilobytes (KB) for Excel. To do this, follow these steps.
  1. Quit Excel if it is currently running.
  2. Double-click the Microsoft Office 98 folder on your hard disk.
  3. Click the Microsoft Excel icon.
  4. On the File menu, click Get Info.
  5. Increase the number in the Preferred Size box by 2000.
  6. Close the Microsoft Excel Info window.
