XL97: ErrMsg: '&H00000001 Is an Invalid Key' When Opening a File (185009)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to open a file, you may receive the following error message:
&H00000001 is an Invalid Key
The file can not be loaded

CAUSE

This problem may occur if the following conditions are true:
  • The file was originally created in either Microsoft Excel 5.0 for Windows or Microsoft Excel 7.0 for Windows. -and-

  • The file was saved in the Microsoft Excel 97 file format. -and-

  • The file is stored on a Novell NetWare network server.

WORKAROUND
