OFF98: Configurations Dialog Box May Not Appear (185000)

If you click Configurations on the File menu in the Configuration Manager,
you cannot save a configuration.
CAUSE
Even though the Configurations menu item appears on the File menu in the
Configuration Manager, you cannot save the configuration if the following
conditions are true:
- You install Microsoft Office 98 Macintosh Edition.
-and-
- Microsoft Internet Explorer is not installed.
Microsoft Office 98 does not install the Configurations panel in the System
Folder:MS Preferences Panels folder.
WORKAROUND
To work around this behavior, install Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0. To
do this, follow these steps:
- Insert the Microsoft Office 98 compact disc (CD).
- Open the Microsoft Internet folder.
- Double-click the Internet Explorer 4.0 Installer icon.
- When the installer is finished, click Restart.
- On the Apple menu, point to Control Panels, and then click Configuration
Manager.
- On the File menu, click Configurations.
- Click Save in the dialog box that prompts you to save changes to your
preferences.
The Configurations dialog box appears.
