- Microsoft Excel 98 Macintosh Edition
This article was previously published under Q183849 SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft Excel 98 Macintosh Edition, no text is displayed in the status
bar if you move your mouse pointer over a toolbar button or menu item.
STATUS
This behavior is by design in Microsoft Excel 98.
MORE INFORMATION
In earlier versions of Microsoft Excel, you can set status bar text for a
Visual Basic for Applications procedure. When you do this, the status bar
text for the procedure appears in the status bar when you move your mouse
pointer over the toolbar button or menu item that runs the procedure.
In Microsoft Excel 98, if you create a Visual Basic for Applications
procedure in which the StatusBar parameter is set, the parameter is
ignored.
