SUMMARY

This article lists certain requirements for printing documents from your Handheld PC (H/PC).

MORE INFORMATION

  • To print directly to a parallel printer, you need a serial-to-parallel adapter cable. Note that the cable included with your H/PC device is a serial cable designed only for communication with a desktop computer.
  • To print using an infrared connection, align the infrared port on the H/PC with the infrared port on the desktop computer.

For additional information about infrared printing, please see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

177865 Err Msg: Cannot Start Communications with the Desktop Computer

NOTE: Windows CE 2.0 includes a PCL3 print driver. This driver supports printing on most laser and ink-jet printers. If you experience problems printing from your H/PC, check your printer documentation to verify that your printer is compatible with the PCL3 print driver.
