MORE INFORMATION
The Standard Installation for Outlook 98 is the same as the Minimal
Installation, with the exception that the Standard Installation includes
Microsoft Outlook Help.
Setup does not have separate pages for installing Windows 95 versus Windows
NT components. Setup detects your operating system when you select a
component, and then downloads and installs either the Windows 95 or Windows
NT version of that component as appropriate.
NOTE: Two items in the Mail Components section are mutually exclusive.
You cannot select both Internet Only E-mail Service and Corporate Or
Workgroup E-mail Service; you must select only one or the other. If you
have installed the wrong version of Outlook, use Add Components to switch
into the correct messaging support.
Components Installed During Standard Installation
- Microsoft Outlook 98 Internet Only E-mail Service (IMO)
-or-
- Microsoft Outlook 98 Corporate or Workgroup E-mail Service (CW)
- Help files for Microsoft Outlook 98
- Microsoft Outlook News Reader. The Microsoft Outlook News Reader is
a news-only mode of Outlook Express. It is installed as a separate
news reader and allows you to read and post news articles with the
same functionality and speed that Outlook Express provides.
Components Available with Add/Remove
When viewing the Microsoft Outlook 98 Component Install page, all
components are visible. You can tell what components are already
installed by reading the Status column on the right side of the page.
From the Component Install Web page, you can select which components you
want to install. The total download size and time (based on the average
speed of a 28.8 Kbps modem or 4X CD-ROM) is noted at the bottom of
the page.
You can also click the red arrows next to the component names in order
to see descriptions of the individual components.
If you select a component for installation that has already been installed,
the following dialog box appears:
<Component name> is already installed. Do you want to reinstall this
component?
Click Yes if you want to reinstall the component.
The following table lists a description of each item on the Component
Install page.
