This article was previously published under Q183542 SYMPTOMS
If you import a document created in a word processor (such as Microsoft
Word) into Publisher 98, only the document text is imported. Pictures in
that document are not imported. In contrast, earlier versions of Publisher
imported the pictures along with the text.
WORKAROUNDMethod 1: Use a Copy and Paste Operation- Import the document into Publisher 98. Do not close Publisher.
- Start your word processing program and open the same document
NOTE: If you do not have the program that originally created the
document, try opening the document in Microsoft Word, Wordpad, or Write.
- Select one of the pictures that you want to use in your publication.
- On the Edit menu, click Copy
- Switch to Publisher.
- On the Edit menu, click Paste Special.
- From the As list in the Paste Special dialog box, click Picture.
- Click OK.
- Repeat steps 3-8 for all pictures you want to use in your publication.
Method 2: Use an Earlier Version of Publisher
If you still have an earlier version of Microsoft Publisher installed on
your computer, import the document into that version of Publisher. You can
then save the file from the earlier version of Publisher and then open the
publication file in Publisher 98.
STATUS
