CAUSE
This problem occurs when you open a project that was saved while the PERT view was active and the Show Arrows option was turned off.
RESOLUTION
To correct this problem, install Microsoft Project 98 for Windows Service
Release 1 (SR-1).
To temporarily work around this problem, if you want to save a project
while the PERT view is active, make sure the Show Arrows option is turned on. To turn on the Show Arrows option, follow these steps:
- In the PERT view, click Layout on the Format
menu.
- Click to select the Show Arrows check box, and then click
OK.
You can now save, close and then reopen the project without problems.
If you encounter the error message described in the Symptoms section of this article and can not follow this workaround, obtain Microsoft Project SR-1 and you will be able to open your project.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of Microsoft
Project listed above.
