The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft PowerPoint 98 Macintosh Edition
This article was previously published under Q183259 SYMPTOMS
When you open a Microsoft PowerPoint 3.0 or 4.0 presentation that includes
transitions in Microsoft PowerPoint 98 Macintosh Edition and run a slide show,
none of the transitions work. Also, if you switch to Slide Sorter view, the
transition type for each slide is defined as "No Transition."
NOTE: Even though PowerPoint 98 does not use the transitions correctly, if you
run the presentation in PowerPoint 3.0 or 4.0, the transitions work as expected.
CAUSE
PowerPoint 98 does not correctly read the transition information from the
presentation file.
RESOLUTION
To view the transitions in PowerPoint 3.0 and 4.0 presentations, run the slide
show in PowerPoint (3.0 or 4.0) or the PowerPoint 4.0 Viewer.
