WD98: "Unrecoverable Disk Error" Saving Word 6.x File to Floppy (183112)

In Microsoft Word 98 Macintosh Edition, when you open a Word 6.x document
that contains an embedded object, and try to save it to a floppy disk as
Rich Text Format (RTF), you may receive one of the following error
messages:
There is an unrecoverable disk error on file Word Work file D <number>.
The disk you're working on has a media problem that prevents Word from
using it.
Try the following:
* Try formatting another disk.
* Save the document to another disk.
There is not enough memory or disk space to convert this document.
NOTE: You may also receive a type 10 system error when you attempt to save
the Word 6.x document to a floppy disk as a Word 6.0/95 document. This
problem may occur when the Office Assistant is active.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, save your Word document to your Macintosh hard
disk, and then copy the file to your floppy disk.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products
listed at the beginning of this article.
