Computer or Mouse Hangs Playing Game with Multiple Monitors (181924)
The information in this article applies to:
This article was previously published under Q181924 SYMPTOMS
When you are using a mouse to navigate through a playing field in a
Windows-based game, the mouse or Windows 98 may stop responding (hang).
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if you are using multiple monitors with Windows 98
and the game is not designed to run on a computer using multiple monitors.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, contact the manufacturer of the game to inquire
about obtaining a possible update to address this issue.
MORE INFORMATION
Some Windows-based games have a playing field that can be scrolled or
navigated through by moving the mouse pointer toward the edge of the
screen. If there is no secondary monitor, the mouse pointer stops at the
edge of the screen when it is used to navigate around a playing field. If
a secondary monitor is added, you may inadvertently overshoot the edge of
the screen moving the mouse pointer to the secondary monitor, causing the
issue to occur.
