XL98: Double-Clicking Hyperlink May Activate Edit Mode (181909)

When you double-click a hyperlink in Microsoft Excel 98 Macintosh Edition,
you may end up in Edit mode in the destination cell for the hyperlink.
WORKAROUND
If you double-click a hyperlink in Microsoft Excel 98 Macintosh Edition,
and the link points to a cell within any sheet in the active workbook, you
may end up in Edit mode in the destination cell. To prevent this from
occurring, single-click the hyperlink, because the hyperlink will take you
directly to the destination cell. There is no need to double-click the
hyperlink.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products
listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem
and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it
becomes available.
