SYMPTOMS

If you customize your Outlook Today page to include links that open in a new window, the links open in Microsoft Internet Explorer, even if a different browser is set as your default.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Outlook 98. A supported fix is now available, but has not been fully regression-tested and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem. Unless you are severely impacted by this specific problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next service pack that contains this fix. Microsoft Outlook 98 includes a unique, "at a glance" view called Outlook Today. This view displays information about your Calendar, Tasks, the number of unread e-mail messages in your Inbox, and provides a quick search for specific Contacts.
