CRS Does Not Replicate Empty Folders (181330)

SYMPTOMS

You will not see a new empty folder in the Microsoft Content Replication System (CRS).

CAUSE

The Microsoft CRS will not replicate a new folder until you add content.

WORKAROUND

Always add a file to each new folder so that it will replicate correctly. This can be a zero byte file such as Mscreate.dir.

RESOLUTION

If this behavior is a serious problem, then apply the fix described below.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Commercial Internet System, version 1.0 Service Pack 1, and Microsoft Site Server, version 2.0.

A supported fix is now available, but has not been fully regression-tested and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem. Unless you are severely impacted by this specific problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Service Pack that contains this fix.
