OL98: Error Pasting Text from Microsoft TechNet to Outlook (181009)

Using HTML as your e-mail format in Microsoft Outlook 98, when you paste
text from the Microsoft TechNet CD, you receive the following message:
This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down.
If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.
When you click Details, the following message displays:
OUTLOOK caused an invalid page fault in module MSCONV97.DLL at
0137:021e10de.
NOTE: The hexadecimal code numbers may be different.
When you click Close, Outlook exits.
CAUSE
The text format in the TechNet CD is a variant of Rich Text Format (RTF).
The Outlook HTML converter does not recognize this format.
RESOLUTION
Use another message format when you need to paste text from the TechNet CD.
To change to a different format for outgoing mail:
- On the Tools menu, click Options.
- Click the Mail Format Tab.
- In the Message Format list, click Microsoft Outlook Rich Text, Plain
Text, or Microsoft Word, and click OK.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Outlook 98.
