The default forms for appointments, contacts, journal entries, and tasks in Microsoft Outlook 98 contain a check box for marking an item as private. This check box makes it possible to hide personal information by making an item visible only to its owner.

If you have given another person delegate access to any of your folders, you can hide personal information. To give another person delegate access to your folders, you must be using Outlook with Microsoft Exchange Server.

To hide personal information, follow these steps:
  1. Open the item you want to make private.
  2. Click the Private check box to select it.
  3. Click Save And Close.
