PRJ98: Extra Record Written in Reserved_ExternalDataLinks Table (180774)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Project 98 for Windows
This article was previously published under Q180774 SYMPTOMS
When you view a project in a database program, such as Microsoft Access 97,
the Reserved_ExternalDataLinks table may contain more records than
expected.
CAUSE
When you save a project that contains one OLE link as a database format,
three records are written to the Reserved_ExternalDataLinks table. The
first record is for source of the link and the second record is for the
destination of the link. The third record is for preserving the document
format.
For each successive OLE link added to the Reserved_ExternalDataLinks table,
two records are written: one for the source of the link and one for the
destination of the link.
STATUS
This behavior is by design of Microsoft Project 98.
