OL98: Fax Uses Incorrect Country Code With Windows NT (180426)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Outlook 98
- the operating system: Microsoft Windows NT 4.0
This article was previously published under Q180426 SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft Outlook 98 if you set your dialing location to a country other
than the United States and then send a fax to a ten-digit telephone number,
such as (406) 222-2222, the country code incorrectly resolves to a number
other than +1.
CAUSE
This problem occurs due to a Telephony Application Programming Interface
(TAPI) problem with Windows NT, version 4.0.
RESOLUTION
You can work around this problem by explicitly typing the country code in
the fax number field. For example, to send a fax to (406) 222-2222 in the
United States, type +1(406) 222-2222 in the fax field.
