SUMMARY

When you use the Security Configuration Editor tool to perform a security inspection, the following Jet database log files may be generated in the %SystemRoot%\Security folder:

Res1.log
Res2.log
Edb.log

MORE INFORMATION

The Jet database engine uses these files as version stores to handle the transaction commit and rollback functions of the Jet databases. These log files are required by the Jet database engine. Other databases may also use these files for configuration or analysis.

These Jet database log files are generated in addition to any log files used for configuration or analysis by the Security Configuration Editor tool.
