TMGR: Cannot Change "Keep Copies of Tasks In" Option (180357)

SYMPTOMS

In Team Manager for Team Members, when you view Options, you may be unable to change the Keep Copies Of Tasks In option.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, use the method appropriate for your situation.

Changing the Option to Schedule+

To change the option to Schedule+, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Start button, point to Programs, and then click Windows Explorer.
  2. Find the directory that Team Manager for Team Members is installed in, for example, C:\Program Files\Microsoft Team Manager
  3. Click to select the mtmsync.dll file.
  4. On the File menu, click Rename.
  5. Type mtmsyncold.dll, and press ENTER.
  6. Click to select the mtmsplus.dll file.
  7. On the File menu, click Rename.
  8. Type mtmsync.dll, and press ENTER.
  9. Restart Team Manager for Team Members to see the changes.

Changing the Option to Outlook

To change the option to Outlook, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Start button, point to Programs, and then click Windows Explorer.
  2. Find the directory that Team Manager for Team Members is installed in, for example, C:\Program Files\Microsoft Team Manager
  3. Click to select the Mtmsync.dll file.
  4. On the File menu, click Rename.
  5. Type mtmsyncold.dll, and press ENTER.
  6. Click to select the Mtmolook.dll file.
  7. On the File menu, click Rename.
  8. Type mtmsync.dll, and press ENTER.
  9. Restart Team Manager for Team Members to see the changes.
NOTE: The Mtmsync.dll file is what determines whether you will use Outlook or Schedule+.

MORE INFORMATION

The normal method for changing this option is to click Options after opening Team Manager for Team Members. In the "Working with Outlook or Schedule+" section of the Options Page, select either Outlook or Schedule+ in the "Keep copies of tasks in" list. After restarting Team Manager for Team Members, the option you selected should be active when you click Options.
