SUMMARY
A certificate mapping can only be done to security principals (user
accounts) and does not support groups or aliases in the Windows 2000 Active
Directory.
MORE INFORMATION
Certificate mapping is used by security packages to log on to the
corresponding user account and build a token, which is later presented for
access to resources.
