Cannot Select Network Components During Small Business Server Setup (179693)

SYMPTOMS

During Small Business Server Setup, you may receive a notification stating:

Windows NT is now ready to install networking components that you selected and others required by the system.

This process will allow individual components to install themselves and raise dialogs so that they may install correctly.

However, you cannot actually select the network components to install.

CAUSE

You cannot select the network components. Setup detects the network adapter and automatically installs the Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft BackOffice Small Business Server Version 4.0.
