This article was previously published under Q179386 SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft Outlook, you can embed contact information into an e-mail
message by using the right mouse button to click a contact and then click
Forward on the shortcut menu. However, if you try to send the e-mail
message (with an embedded contact) to a fax address, you will receive an
undeliverable mail message in your Inbox.
CAUSE
The Microsoft Fax service cannot render the embedded contact item.
RESOLUTION
You can change the contact information to text before inserting it into an
e-mail message by following these steps:
- Using the right mouse button, drag the contact to the Inbox
on the Outlook Bar. Note that a shortcut menu opens automatically.
- Click "Copy Here as Message with Text" on the shortcut menu, to create
a new mail message with the contact information formatted as regular
text.
- Address the message to the fax number and send it. Note that the message
should be delivered successfully.
