WD98: Items Not Available on Font Menu (179247)

The following items are not available on the Font menu:
9 Point
10 Point
12 Point
14 Point
18 Point
24 Point (all to change the font size)
Up (increases the font size by 1 point)
Down (decreases the font size by 1 point)
Other (Opens the Font dialog box)
Default Font... (opens the Preferences dialog box)
NOTE: This is a change in design from earlier versions of Word.
CAUSE
By design of Microsoft Word 98 Macintosh Edition, these items are no longer
included on the Font menu. Instead, items on the Font menu are displayed in
What-You-See-Is- What-You-Get (WSIWG) format.
WORKAROUND
To change the font attributes, follow these steps:
- Select the text for which you want to change the font attributes.
- On the Format menu, click Font.
- Select the desired attribute and click OK.
To change the default font, follow these steps:
- On the Format menu, click Font.
- Select the desired font, style, or size (or any other attribute you want
to have as a default).
- Click Default.
You will receive a dialog box with the prompt "Do you want o change the
default to...."
- Click Yes.
