WD98: How to Reset the Default (Original) Toolbars (179088)

This article provides detailed instruction on resetting the predefined (built-in) toolbars to their default configuration.

To reset a predefined toolbar to it original settings, follow these steps:

  1. On Toolbars menu, point to View, and click Customize.
  2. Click the Toolbars.
  3. Click the toolbar you want to reset.
  4. Click Reset.
  5. Select the appropriate template or document to reset the toolbar in (usually Normal).
  6. Click OK.
  7. Select another toolbar to reset or click Close.
  8. To make the changes permanent, hold the SHIFT key and click Save All on the File menu.

    TIP: If prompted to save a document, you need only save that document to preserve the changes in the toolbar if that is the document selected in step 5. Otherwise, save the document only if you want to save other changes.
