This article describes how to insert a hyperlink that opens a Microsoft Access 97 database table or query. Before you begin, you will need to know the following:

  • The file name of the database
  • The name of the table or query

Inserting a Hyperlink to a Microsoft Access Database or Query

To insert a hyperlink that links to a Microsoft Access database table or query, follow these steps:

  1. Open Word.
  2. On the Insert menu, click Hyperlink.
  3. Under "Link to file or URL," click Browse, select the database, and then click OK.
  4. Under "Named location in file (optional)," type one of the following:
    • The word "table" (without the quotation marks), followed by a space and the name of the table you want to use.

      -or-

    • The word "query" (without the quotation marks), followed by a space and the name of the query you want to use.


  5. Click OK.
