The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Excel 98 Macintosh Edition
This article was previously published under Q179043 SYMPTOMS
When you link a picture in a worksheet to a cell, the picture may not be
immediately updated when you change the cell.
CAUSE
This problem may occur after you apply a conditional format to the cell to
which your picture is linked.
NOTE: The same problem may happen if you already applied a conditional
format to the cell, and you then link a picture and change the conditional
format.
WORKAROUND
To resolve this problem, press F9 to recalculate the worksheet.
If you do not want to recalculate the entire worksheet, do the following:
- Select the cell to which your picture is linked.
- Click Bold on the formatting toolbar.
- If you do not want to apply the Bold format to the cell, click Bold once
more.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products
listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem
and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it
becomes available.
MORE INFORMATION
Conditional formatting is a new feature in Microsoft Excel 98. Based on the
conditions (up to three) you use for the conditional format for the cell,
Microsoft Excel can dynamically apply a different font, style, pattern, or
