When you use Internet Explorer to download a file from the Internet, a
.wav (Windows sound) file may not be played when the download is complete.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if a .wav file is not associated with the Asterisk
sound event.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this behavior, associate a .wav file with the Asterisk sound
event. To do so, follow these steps:
- Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click Sounds.
- In the Events box, click Asterisk.
- Click the Name box, and then click the .wav file you want to use. If
the .wav file you want to use is not listed, click Browse, locate and
click the .wav file you want, and then click OK.
NOTE: To hear the .wav file you selected, click the Play button under
Preview.
- Click OK.
