SUMMARY
When you open and save publications in Microsoft Publisher, the initial
folder suggested by Publisher to save and open publications is commonly
called the working folder or directory. In the Publisher options dialog
box, there is no way to specify a default folder. However, Publisher uses a
registry setting to determine this folder. This registry setting may be
changed to specify an alternate folder. This article explains how to modify
the registry setting to specify a different working folder.
NOTE: In earlier versions of Publisher, you could change the Start In field
in a shortcut to the Publisher program to achieve a similar behavior. This
does not work with Publisher 98.
