SUMMARY

Microsoft Publisher uses the settings in Control Panel to determine your margin values. If your computer is set up for metric, your margins are based on a conversion from inches. Therefore, the default in Publisher under Centimeters is 2.5 cm, or 1 inch converted.

If you want to change to centimeters in all your programs, follow these steps:
  1. Click the Start button, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click the Regional Settings icon.
  3. Click the Number tab.
  4. In the Measurement System list, click Metric, and then click OK.
By design, Microsoft Publisher bases all its basic information (date, date format, time, time format, currency format, language, number format, country, keyboard, and measurement) on what you set in Control Panel.
