When you enable Thumbnail view for your folders and configure Windows
Explorer or My Computer to be viewed as a Web page, the Thumbnail images
for some file types may not be displayed.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if you remove and re-create the file association
for a file type. The registry entry that is used by the Windows Desktop Update component to display Thumbnail images is not updated properly when you re-create the file association.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, use either of the following methods:
- Reinstall the Windows Desktop Update component. For information about
removing and installing the Windows Desktop Update component, click

Click Start, click Run, type the following command in the Open box, and then press ENTER:
regsvr32.exe /i shdocvw.dll
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Internet Explorer 4.0 and 4.01 for Windows 95, and in Windows 98.
