PRJ98: Work Lost When Setting Actual Finish Date (178684)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Project 98 for Windows
This article was previously published under Q178684 SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft Project 98, when you assign an Actual Finish date for a task,
you may see that some Work or Overtime Work is lost.
CAUSE
In the Task Usage view, you can assign an Actual Finish date for either the
task or for any resource assignment that belongs to a task. The behavior
described in the "Symptoms" section occurs when you assign the Actual
Finish date to the resource assignment for the task and not to the task
directly.
WORKAROUND
To work around this behavior, set the Actual Finish date for the task, not for the assignment.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of Microsoft
Project listed above.
